Wynard Ward is a multi-function ward with inpatient Gynaecology beds and a 10 bed day surgery unit.
Wynard Ward cares for patients undergoing major gynaecology surgery, as well as day cases. This includes patients undergoing oncology surgery, hysterectomy, breast surgery and vaginal surgery.

Meet the team
The ward is run by a Matron who is supported with a team of Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants along with support from the administration team.
Wynard Ward also work closely with the theatre team.
The ward works closely with the Gynaecology Assessment Unit, pre-assessment and gynaecology theatres.

A variety of treatments are offered along with a wide and varied range of elective surgery. Some of these include:

Supporting you
Women’s Health Counsellors are part of the team providing care in The Centre for Women’s Health. We offer emotional support for women accessing the services of Gynaecology.
Gynaecology referrals for counselling support include:-
- Decision making when considering gynaecology surgery, e.g. Hysterectomy
- Post-operatively, within 4 months of surgery taking place.
