The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust became an NHS Foundation Trust on 1 April 2004, following a rigorous assessment process and was one of the first trusts in the country to achieve the new status. Today, the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is proud to hold this status as a newly integrated NHS Foundation Trust.
As we continue our integration, some of the documents on this website will refer to our former organisations:
- The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E)
- The Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust (NDHT)
Our Foundation Trust documents prior to April 2022 refer only to the RD&E. As new documents are produced, these will have the Royal Devon logo and related information.
