Radiology - Northern services

The North Devon District Hospital’s (NDDH) diagnostic imaging department is a relatively small but friendly department, currently employing 127 staff.  It also covers radiology departments in the community hospitals at Bideford and Ilfracombe and provides other imaging services in the community, such as ultrasound.

The diagnostic imaging department currently undertakes over 95,000 patient examinations per year, including general X-rays, Fluoroscopy and Interventional procedures, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Mammography and DXA scans (Bone Densitometry).

Opening hours information

If you have been referred to North Devon District Hospital for an x-ray by your GP, you will be contacted by the radiology department and an appointment made for you to attend for your x-ray.

Please note: we do not currently offer a walk-in service for x-rays.
